Celso Fonseca

The seductive Brazilian singer/guitarist has recorded two luminous and sunny albums on Crammed's Ziriguiboomimprint: Natural (2003), in which he soulfully revisited the very roots of pure, acoustic bossa & samba, and  Rive Gauche Rio (2005), an elegant and sensual tribute to his beloved city of Rio and to the Parisian Left Bank.

Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Celso Fonseca has released several critically acclaimed solo albums in Brazil. These releases have cemented his reputation as a unique singer and brilliant songwriter who bears the torch of the classic Brazilian sound in everything he touches.  As a guitarist, Celso has played live and recorded with top artists including Gilberto Gil, Milton Nascimento, Gal Costa, Djavan, Caetano Veloso, Marisa Monte, Chico Buarque, Carlinhos Brown, Bebel Gilberto, Carlos Santana, Charles Lloyd, António Chainho and Bernard Lavilliers, to name a few. He has produced and arranged albums for Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, Daniela Mercury, Virginia Rodrigues and Daude.
